Services include:
Drilling and Sampling – A CME 45 track rig advanced the borings utilizing mud rotary techniques with bentonite slurry. A total of 3 bridge borings were advanced to depths ranging from 39.5’ to 121.5’. Shelby tube sampling was performed in the borings at 5 feet intervals, when cohesive soils were encountered. Continuous sampling was also performed in first 40’ in three of the borings. Standard penetration test sampling was also performed in the borings at 5 feet intervals, when non-cohesive soils were encountered. Each boring was backfilled with cementious grout upon completion of drilling activities in accordance with LADOTD guidelines. Coordination between landowners, businesses and utility owners was crucial for a successful drilling program.
Laboratory Testing and Analysis – AASHTO and Unified soil classification, moisture content, liquid limit, plastic limit, sieve analysis, consolidation, and unconsolidated undrained triaxial compression tests.
