The Schroeder Lake Dam is a 45-acre impoundment of Garrison Creek which is tributary to the Tennessee River. The watershed includes the Reidland area of McCracken County which is urban in character and primarily developed as residential. The lake was impounded largely for recreational purposes. The dam is classified as a low hazard structure. The primary spillway designed for the facility is a 10’ X 10’ structure that includes an inner structure with ports at the bottom to encourage circulation through discharges of the lower lake levels during dry periods. The facility includes an earthen emergency spillway constructed in undisturbed soils on the east side of the structure.
